Purpose and scope
This equipment is used to online monitor the outer diameter, ellipticity, eccentricity and wall thickness of cables and cable semi-finished products. When the measured object is elliptical, the direction and eccentricity of the elliptical axis of the measured object can be determined.
The measuring head is designed to operate in a temperate climate in an enclosed room within an ambient temperature range of 5 ° C to 45 ° C.

Operating principle of equipment
All measurements of the equipment are conducted in a non-contact manner.
There are two connectors on the equipment panel for connecting the communication interface and for connecting the inductor. The communication interface of the measuring head in the delivery kit includes: RS-485 interface with electrical isolation and programmable baud rate, PROFIBUS DP specification V0, which is used to integrate into the existing automation and control line, coordinate or replace the third-party equipment, and wireless Bluetooth interface. If the distance between the measuring head and the information display device does not exceed 100 m, no other connection is required. In this case, communication can be carried out through Bluetooth.
The measuring head with built-in radio channel can transmit information to an external computer, laptop or smartphone without additional connection. If the other side has an appropriate method to ensure interaction at the specified distance, communication between the measuring head and any of the listed external devices can be established through Bluetooth within an open space radius of not more than 100 m.
The working principle of the device is based on the shadow method, which is used to determine the position and size of the measurement object irradiated by the luminous flux. The coordinates of the shadow from the light source are projected onto the optical scale and processed in the memory of the device.
In order to determine the diameter, position and ellipticity of the measured object, the measuring system is composed of two mutually perpendicular light sources and light rays on the same plane with them. The optical ruler displays the cross-sectional projection of the measured object on the plane vertical axis orthogonal to the motion axis of the measured object.
In order to determine the center of the current carrying conductor, a system of electromagnetic sensors and inductors is used. In order to make the electromagnetic sensor system operate correctly, it is necessary to ensure that the induced current flows in the measured iron core. For this reason, the cable retracting drum, water tank and measuring head shall be properly grounded.
The working area to be measured is a circle with a diameter of 18 mm. Although the measured object can be in any position in the measurement area in fact, in order to obtain more accurate measurement results, the measuring head will continuously position to the area of the best measurement mode. In order to facilitate work, the screen of the visualization device displays the cross section of the tested cable and the external dimension of each of the four coordinates.
When the measuring head is aligned with the front panel plane and the display device screen (display) in the same direction, if the mode is set, the position and direction of the optical axis of the measuring head will be consistent with the position and direction of the optical axis displayed by the software on the display device screen (display).
