What are the advantages and disadvantages of laser measuring instrument

In recent years, there are hundreds of domestic and foreign calipers installed on domestic lines and bar rolling lines. At present, most of the calipers developed in China are limited to cold measurement, and the typical one is laser calipers. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a kind of calipers used for hot rolling steel. In this case, the wire calipers based on CCD photoelectric measurement principle are developed.

The disadvantages of the laser measuring instrument are that it has high requirements on the optical machine and short optical path, and can not adapt to the harsh environment of the hot-rolled wire rod site. The instability of the laser itself affects the accuracy and stability of the measuring instrument, and the laser tube is easy to be damaged. The on-site conditions of hot-rolled wire rod are very bad, with much dust, large water vapor and serious electrical interference. In addition, the wire rod itself has high temperature and fast traveling speed, and the signal is not easy to take out. Therefore, it is difficult to realize on-line caliper measurement.

In addition, the cross-section of steel is elliptical, and it is in the state of continuous vibration and torsion. It is much more difficult to measure the long axis and short axis of the steel in a timely manner than that of static or cold wire. The wire rod measuring instrument overcomes many difficulties and adopts photoelectric measuring method to measure. The light source adopts high brightness cold light source and the object side telecentric parallel light measurement. The hot-rolled wire rod is not afraid of the very bad site conditions. The external circulation cooling system and the duckbill side blowing dust-proof system are configured to ensure the operation of the caliper in various harsh rolling environment sites, and can also be applied to the detection of high-temperature rolled materials at 1000 ℃ and above.
